Eve Eyota
Description:
I guess I draw Eve Eyota more than anyone else, huh?
She's a lot of fun to draw. If I draw her young, I get
to draw her as the young shy noble girl she was, which is
it's own type of style, or if I draw her older, I get to
draw the sexy, tanned, tough amazon woman she becomes.
As with Cleo Archeres, I should write down her story.
Love, love, love her hair. I wish I could remember
whose tutorial it was that introduced me to this
way of CGing hair, I would link to him in a second.
Let me tell you, You don't have to pay twenty bucks
or more per book at a bookstore to get your tutorials
and how-tos. Just ask Google.com, that's where I get
my best CGing tips. If you have a favorite artist,
DEFINATELY look for a tutorial section. My CGing style
is my own, but I definately owe a LOT to the many people
over the years and their tutorials. You read the tutorials,
take what works for you, incorporate it into your style,
and learn, learn, learn. The mistake I made over and over,
though, was to assume that if I did everything the tutorial told me
perfectly and to the letter, that my finished project would look
as great as theirs. Not so. When the tutorial tells me what type
to make my layer in Photoshop, that I can do. When the tutorial
tells me to add shadows and highlights, if I don't know the proper
placement of shadows and highlights depending on the light sources
and fabrics, etc, then it's not going to look good. That would be
my advice to any artists. The most important key to drawing is
knowing your anatomy (something I never bothered to study until
only recently, and is the reason my art is improving) and for coloring?
Know where the light sources are, Know where the shadows and highlights
should be and how certain surfaces, fabrics, etc, reflect or react to lights
and shadows. Don't assume or guess, Know. I'm not great at anatomy
OR knowing where my shadows should be, but I do know that that's what
you NEED to know to be great at drawing and coloring, so that's what I work on.
