The Bride

Description:

Occasionally, Like for my Mummy picture, I find the original line-art for an older piece of art and redraw/recolor it, so that's what I did here. I was really happy with the first one when I first drew it, but not so much after I colored it. This version blows the old one out of the water. It looks like a lot was changed, But the only thing I changed was (obviously) the head, I redrew the curve of her lower back to come in a bit more, (it just looked better that way) and I just slightly changed a bit of her right hand, mostly around the wrist. The head was way too long in the original. The colors are so much more vibrant and everything looks more in proportion simply because I have a better idea of shadows and highlights, So like I said, it looks like a lot was changed on the picture, but the only thing that changed was my coloring skills and my knowledge of anatomy. I like how the blood on her sleeve came out, It took me awhile to get it to look the way I wanted it to. I experimented with some blood on her face and some blood sprays on the wall, but I found it looked too cluttered, so I stuck with just her sleeve. Even the sword looks better (I managed to get a better look at the hilt in a picture I found and changed it accordingly.) So, does it look like Uma Thurman? The answer's still no, But, it does look a whole heck of a lot better.
